Shri Jivkor Vanita Vishram is a historical school located in the walled city.
This school was started by a teenage widow Sulochana Desai with the help of her parents and siblings. She had studied till the seventh grade and wanted to work for the benefit of other widows by starting an institution that came up in one room at Jethabhai Pol with a library.
The school founded in 1906 grew and was praised by the famous poet Kalapi. Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore inaugurated the school which received a donation from a philanthropist Somnath.
The school retains much of its old façade, jharokha, roof and architectural features.
The school started with an aim to provide education to girls back then.
