Lokmanya Tilak Bag (Victoria Garden) is a colonial-period public park, situated near the Riverfront and Ellis Bridge.
Lokmanya Tilak Bag (Victoria Garden) was laid out during the British-period. The Sunday Flea Market, called Ravivari or Gurjari, has operated in this area since the 1950s.
Walk in the park which has mature trees where bats roost and you can see birds too. The park has water features, fountains, play areas and pavilions. The centrepiece of the park was a statue of Queen Victoria that gave it the name but it is now placed in the Sanskar Kendra Museum building.
The statue of Tilak unveiled by Mahatma Gandhi in 1929 can be seen here. This park is a popular place for social interaction and recreation, with many visitors on weekends.
Built more than 200 years ago by the British, it serves as the perfect space for a peaceful time. It is spread over a vast area of 23,000 square meters.
